The second option of refilling inkjet cartridges is still far cheaper than paying for a brand new cartridge, but may require some searching on your part. If you live in a small neighborhood or in the countryside then this may not be an option. In most big cities you will find special refill stores that will refill your cartridges for you.

Of course, there are a few drawbacks; for one there may not be a store for miles, which means you’ll have to spend money on gasoline. The other problem that might occur is that the store doesn’t stock the right ink or it may not be compatible with your cartridge. They might not be using quality printer refill kits either, so who knows what the quality will be like.
