A LAN party Is all about the experience – it should be comfortable, the participant should not find the recourses and infrastructure lacking and most of all, it should be a fun and memorable experience. Like any party, its success lies in the detailed planning. If you have never hosted LAN party before it is best to start out small say four five if your close friends who are willing to take part.

The first thing you need to ask yourself is where you want to host your LAN party: in your house? In your building’s  community hall? Once you’ve settled this, decide how big the party can be and how many people you can invite to it. Mess up on this and there will either be too few people at the event or it will be too crammed for comfort!

With the location finalized, you need to take a stroll around it and make note of the power and furniture requirements. Check out how many power outlets there are and pay special attention to the number and location of s-amp and IS-amp power points. As a rule of thumb, a 15 amp outlet can comfortably support about five high-end gaming machines. Make sure there are enough of these around to accommodate the number of participants in your party. Try to run too many computers off a s-amp plug point and you could wind up with a blown fuse! This done, you can decide whether you would need extension boxes to get power to the final location of the computers in the area.

Next, ensure that you have proper furniture to support your participants’ computers. For example, if you are hosting the party in your house, you will definitely want to let your family members know of this. Seeing as there will be several noisy and enthusiastic pals in your house, the others will have to bear with the potential chaos! If you can wrangle it, the dining table is a good place to anchor about two or three computers, depending upon the size. The monitors, keyboards and mice can be placed on the table with the cabinets placed underneath. You can then decide whether you need to ask your friends to bring along their collapsible computer furniture or not!

To keep it from going too long to read we will stop here for today and we would continue with it tommorow
